Arriving To The Salon
We want your experience at Tosin Elizebeth to be as pleasant and relaxing as possible, so please allow about 5 minutes of time to find a parking space. Additionally, we ask all clients to arrive up to 5 minutes before your appointment time. All appointments are structured to allow time for a consultation, shampoo & intense conditioning, your technical service, processing/ dryer time, finishing and product recommendation. If you're late, we may have to cancel your appointment. Please refer to our Salon Policies for more information on tardiness.If you'd like us to put together a collection of products for this process specifically for your hair texture and type, please call or email us. We can ship the products to you, or you can pick them up from the salon prior to your appointment+ shipping fee.
I DO NOT specialize in detangling excessively matted hair. If you decide to come tangle YOU WILL BE CHARGED $100 per hour detangle service charge, or your appointment to be cancelled. A consultation at Tosin Elizebeth Afro & European Hair Salon is a one-on-one conversation between the stylist and yourself that aid in assessing your hair and scalp needs, and overall style and health goals and desires for your hair. Consultations are performed at the beginning at your service appointment. We ask that all new clients fill out our New Client Consultation Form prior to scheduling an appointment. For new and existing clients desiring hair color, completion of our Color Consultation Form is required. Once receiving these forms, we can give 5-minutes phone consultations to address your goals for your hair appointment with us. In- salon consultations without a service except for extreme color corrections. NOTE: These instructions is Not telling you , you must come pre shampooed before you come into the salon. But to come WITHOUT any knots/ matted or Wet hair, due to your lack of care and maintenance. Please trust the process! We have been offering this service with these same instructions for years and following these steps sets you up for success!
If you use butters, oils, silicones or any type of heavy products, please detox/ clarify your hair prior to your appointment using a clarifying shampoo. Heavy products tend to build up on the hair and may affect the results of your color service. We also ask that your hair has no product when you arrive for your color service. If you are getting scheduled for a Curly Cut, DevaCut™ or Pintura™ Highlights, you should follow the directions below and arrive in a Wash & Go only. Failure to have clarified ,detangled, and/or stretched hair may result in your stylist having to add on a Hair Color Prep or Hair & Curl Detox service. Twist & Braids Take-Down Prep
If you are just taking out braids or twists after an extended period, please shampoo, condition and detangle your hair before your appointment. Typically, after 2-3 months of wearing braids or a weave, hair may be matted or there can be a massive amount of shed hair and build- up that needs to be removed. The excess time it takes to detangle matted hair is not included in our service times. Should you arrive with extremely matted or tangled hair, we reserve the right to charge our detangling fee or cancel your appointment. Lastly, we do not offer removal of weaves, twists or braids; this must be done prior to your appointment with us. Also, please be aware you will not be permitted to remove your own braids, twists or weave on the premises of Tosin Elizebeth Afro & European Hair Salon.Curly Cut At Home Required Preparation
Please keep in mind I DO NOT specialize in detangling excessively matted hair. these instructions NOT only prevent you to arrive with extremely matted or tangled hair but ULTIMATELY for best results. If you decide to come matted/tangle YOU WILL BE CHARGED we advise you at minimum to follow Step 1 (DETOX) prior to your appointment.1. DETOX - before your appointment.Get ready to detox and clarify your hair if you use ANY products with silicones, butters, or oils in them. Start by shampooing your hair with an oil-free/ butter-free/ silicone- free clarifying shampoo. This means NO, zero, zilch Shea Moisture, Cantu, MAIN CHOICE,Camille Rose, Pantene,Devacurl products As I Am or ANYTHING similar. Please be sure to use a shampoo that is labeled as a "Clarifier" or "Chelator".
2. CONDITION - please refrain from using conditoners that contain oils, butters or silicones.
How To Detox At Home
3. STYLE -Please arrive with your hair detoxed, conditioned, in a dry Wash and Go or in its natural curly state (if you don't know what a Wash and Go/ Curly Set is, see photos in the gallery). If you booked a curly cut try your best to have you curls/ coils defined as possible. We recommend anything over the counter from products like curlmix, Kinky Curly Curling Custard, DIY flaxseed gel. Please refrain from using products from Shea Moisture,ECO Styler, Pantene,Camille Rose, Pantene, As I Am, Cantu, Mielle Organics, The Mane Choice or anything that contains silicones, petroleum, lanolin, butters, or oils. We understand you may have never attempted a Wash & Go before, and that's fine- just do your best. At your appointment, we will give you feedback and teach you how to achieve your best Wash & Go set and get you on the path to having the best hair care products.PLEASE DO NOT use bobby pins, head wraps, ponytails, headbands, rubber bands, hats, clips, etc on the day of your appointment. Your stylist needs to see your natural curl pattern and how your hair falls in order to perform the cut properly. Your hair should be completely DRY out in a Wash & Go , Twist-out! I will not work on wet hair.

Sometimes your desired result may not be achievable with just one visit to the salon. However, if you discuss your hair goals with your stylist, she can recommend a hair regime and timeline that will give you the results and look that you desire. Tosin Elizebeth Afro & European Hair Salon stylist has over 16 years of experience working with all hair textures, and we can achieve gorgeous results without using chemicals. If you've been wearing a weave, braids, or your real hair hidden for an extended period of time, we respectfully ask you to please be realistic about the capabilities of real hair. Our stylists can advise you on styling options in between appointments, how to care for your hair at home, and also how you can evolve your style through the seasons.We appreciate our potential clients for taking the time out to read how to prepare for your appointment.
